DAY BY DAY (overview)

DAY 1

ARRIVAL + BAY TOUR

Upon your arrival in the Galapagos Islands, one of our representatives will cordially receive you at Baltra airport. From there we will go to the Itabaca channel to take our private transport and arrive at our hotel located in the city of Puerto Ayora.

  TOUR DE BAHIA

After our accommodation and lunchtime, we start our activity by taking a watercraft to sail towards La Lobería (Caamaño Islet) where we will be able to observe several sea lions resting on the rocks or swimming around. We can also see some birds such as blue-footed boobies and pelicans.

Then we will take a 10 to 15 minute walk to Las Grietas, where we will observe 2 huge walls of volcanic formation divided by a beautiful water channel ideal for enjoying our time snorkeling or swimming.

We will also visit the shark channel to observe reef sharks in their natural habitat. Finally, we will enjoy some more snorkeling time and on a good day, we could see iguanas and sea turtles. Then we will return to Puerto Ayora.

  • At 18:30 pm, we will carry out the equipment check for our dives in the following days.

DAY 2

NORTH SEYMOUR DIVE

Seymour is one of the most recommended places to carry out this special diving activity because it is a shallow area (15m – 18m deep), it does not have strong currents and its waters contain the best underwater activity of the islands.

This island has a sandy bottom and some types of small underwater caves where white tip sharks stay. We will also be able to observe colonies of garden eels, pan rays, sea turtles, sea lions, Galapagos sharks and schools of colourful fish. We will have 2 dives. The dives are taking place in two different and very important points of the island that will guarantee one of the best experiences lived in the Galapagos Islands.

Seymour is ideal for all levels of scuba divers, whether they are experienced, inexperienced or inexperienced (with or without certificates) as there is no hassle involved in this special diving activity.

Start: 07:00 am          Return: 14:00 pm

DAY 3

GORDON ROCKS DIVE

It is one of the most recognized sites in Galapagos since the most popular species of the islands are found in its waters, the well-known hammerhead shark, which together with a great variety of species typical of the place such as manta rays, turtles, golden rays, barracudas , eagle rays and various schools of fish make this place unique and incomparable. These rocks come from an ancient crater formed by three pinnacles that rise above the surface of the sea giving it an unparalleled style. Without a doubt, it has an excellent combination of its volcanic formation landscapes and its interesting marine life.

After the first dive, we will have some time to hydrate and prepare for a second dive. Due to the presence of current, we recommend Gordon Rocks for intermediate and advanced level divers. It is essential to emphasize that passengers who have little experience will dive on South Plazas Island.

It is very important that the divers (passengers) always stay together with the diving group and thus enjoy this aquatic paradise as safely as possible.

DAY 4

HIGHLAND TOUR + FREE AFTERNOON

We will begin our trip by land until we reach our destination called “El Chato“, located in the upper part of Santa Cruz Island. Upon arrival at the site, we will have the opportunity to observe the emblematic species of the Galapagos Islands, the giant land tortoises. These are found in free areas, such as lagoons, trails and in the beautiful natural landscape of the Upper Part.

We will also explore the lava tunnels. These are hollow rocks type caverns or caves, which allow us to take a walk inside them and take pictures of this beautiful and unique volcanic formation. In addition, we will learn a little more about the geological and natural formation of these wonderful Galapagos Islands.

Finally, we will meet Los Gemelos (The Twins).

These are two gigantic inactive craters located under the earth’s surface in the shape of (inverted) cones and formed by a series of volcanic eruptions. Here we can take photos and enjoy this site surrounded by a beautiful Scalesia forest (endemic plant of the place). We will also observe birds such as the Galapagos Finches and the Vermilion Flycatcher, which give life and colour to this beautiful landscape.

After this special excursion, we will return to Puerto Ayora.

After lunch, we will have the rest of the afternoon as a free time to walk, take photos or go shopping.

DAY 5

TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT

After breakfast, we will have the transfer to Baltra airport to take our return flight to continental Ecuador and thus we will say goodbye to this beautiful experience we lived in the enchanted Islands, Galapagos.
