ARRIVAL + LA LOBERIA TOUR
Upon your arrival in the Galapagos Islands, one of our representatives will cordially receive you at the San Cristobal airport. From there we will travel by private transport to our hotel located in the city of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
LA LOBERIA TOUR (hiking + snorkeling)
After our accommodation and lunch, we will visit a beautiful place called La Lobería, well known for having several families of Sea Lions in free areas along its bay, resting from the sand or swimming in their natural habitat.
We will also observe vegetation typical of the area and the beautiful view from its bay, which makes this a beautiful coastal landscape.
We will have some snorkeling time so we can have the opportunity to see the marine iguanas and baby sea lions.
After this activity, we´ll return to our Hotel.
360° Tour (special boat tour)
This is one of the most complete tours we can do in San Cristobal. We will visit the most important sites around the Island.
The first place to visit is the wonderful Bahía Rosa Blanca. This is a special bay with clear waters where we would land on the beach with snorkeling time to observe colourful fish, marine iguanas and possibly seahorses.
Then we will visit Punta Pitt, where we will make a coastal navigation (along its bay) to observe red-footed boobies, blue-footed boobies and a beautiful landscape of natural volcanic formations.
Continuing with our trip, we will arrive at Sardine Bay, with the option of another snorkeling time to observe, sea turtles and the baby shark of Galapagos.
Finally, we will visit Kicker Rock. This is one of the most recognized sites in Galapagos since in its waters is found the most popular species of the islands, the well-known hammerhead shark, which together with a great variety of typical species of the place such as manta rays, sea turtles, golden rays, sea lions and colourful fish make this place unique and incomparable.
ESPAÑOLA ISLAND TOUR
We start our adventure from San Cristobal Island taking a yacht to Española Island with approximately 2 hours of navigation.
Española Island is one of the oldest in the Archipelago with more than 3 million years of existence. It is part of the emblematic Galapagos Islands and is well known worldwide. Since Punta Suarez (location we can visit at the island) is characterized by being one of the most special bird nesting areas, among which we can find: the blue footed boobies, the Nazca booby, bifurcated seagulls and the icon of the Island, the Albatross (giant bird with a yellow beak). These birds spend most of the year in the Islands due to their mating and reproduction stages (observation from May to December).
On our tour within the Island, we will also be able to observe many other species that inhabit the area such as the multi-coloured iguana (a type of Hybrid Iguana typical of the Española Island) and families of sea lions that have made this place their natural habitat.
Then we will sail to Gardner Bay. This is a wonderful open bay where colonies of sea lions live. Its silky white coral sand and turquoise waters characterizes this bay. The place invites us to enjoy an incredible experience during our snorkeling time, along with green sea turtles, sea lions, golden mantas and colourful fish.
JUNCO LAGOON TOUR + TIJERETAS HILL TOUR
We begin our excursion by taking a private land transport to go to the upper part of San Cristobal Island. The lagoon is located 19 kilometres from the port (approximately 30 minutes by car).
Without a doubt, we will visit one of the most peculiar landscapes of the Island called Junco Lagoon. It is an inactive volcano located in the upper part of the island whose crater has a very striking freshwater lagoon surrounded by beautiful vegetation and various native/endemic birds of the place.
This lagoon has a surface area of 60,000 m2, a volume of 360,000 m3 (equivalent to 9 million gallons of water), a diameter of 270 meters and its maximum depth is 6 meters. This beautiful lagoon, fed only with rainwater, in dry weather it decreases up to 1 meter and when heavy rains occur, its level increases until it overflows, forming streams around it.
From here, we can enjoy a beautiful view and at the same time observe the entire geographical dimension of the island, truly an incomparable landscape in the Galapagos Islands.
TIJERETAS HILL TOUR
After lunch, we will visit this beautiful place that has a unique cliff which is covered with vegetation typical of the area. Home for various birds that inhabit and fly over this place. We could observe red-breasted frigate birds and pelicans.
After the walk and photography, we will be able to spend some time snorkeling or swimming in a very peaceful bay, where we will be able to observe baby manta rays and sea turtles in its clear and shallow waters.
Cerro Tijeretas named after the frigate birds that inhabit the place, was one of the first places in the Islands where the English biologist Charles Darwin arrived. It is an ideal place to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the north coast of the island and where the Kicker Rock Islet can be seen in the distance.
After this activity we will return to our hotel..
SANTA CRUZ ISLAND TOUR #2 (whole day trip)
We start this day by taking a ferry (07:00 am) to Santa Cruz Island with approximately 2 hours of navigation.
HIGHLAND TOUR
We will begin our trip by land until we reach our destination called “El Chato“, located in the upper part of Santa Cruz Island.
Upon arrival, we will have the opportunity to observe the emblematic species of the Galapagos Islands, the giant land tortoises. These are found in free areas, such as lagoons, trails and in the beautiful natural landscape of the Upper Part.
We will also explore the lava tunnels. These are hollow rocks type caverns or caves, which allow us to take a walk inside them and take pictures of this beautiful and unique volcanic formation.
Finally, we will visit Los Gemelos (Twin Craters), these are 2 gigantic inactive craters located under the earth’s surface in the form of cones (sunken) and formed by a series of volcanic eruptions. We will also observe birds such as the Galapagos Finches and the Vermilion Flycatcher give life and colour to this beautiful landscape.
EL GARRAPATERO
El Garrapatero beach is a paradise away from any settlement. Its clear water, its subtle waves and its white sand welcome visitors who opt for a quiet day in contact with nature.
El Garrapatero beach is undoubtedly one of the best options to visit within the Enchanted Islands.
Behind the beach is a lagoon where you can find flamingos, black-necked ducks, Galapagos finches and migratory birds.
Return to Santa Cruz at approximately 4:00 p.m.
SOUTH PLAZAS TOUR / OPTIONAL: North Seymour Island or Bartolomé Island
We will start our journey towards South Plazas Island, where we will have a hike within the place in order to get to know the main attraction. These are the three types of different species of the Iguanas, which live in that place: the Land Iguana, the Marine Iguana and the Hybrid Iguana, which is a unique species, which arises as a cross (reproduction) between the Land and the Marine Iguana.
This island also possesses a very interesting and unique landscape, due to its colored vegetation, formed by algae that grow on shore and the Opuntia Cactus. Underneath its shadows, you’ll find the Land Iguanas because they feed themselves on the fallen cactus fruits. We will also be able to enjoy a spectacular view from the cliffs, where we are going to find great colonies of Swallow-tailed Gulls, Lava Gulls and Nazca Boobies, which harmonize this natural area.
Undoubtedly, we will be welcomed and sent off in an excellent way, as we will find one of the largest colonies of Sea Lions in Galapagos on the beach where we arrive.
We will also visit Carrión Point for some excellent snorkeling/swimming time in the calm waters of this area. Here we can see colourful fish, manta rays and white tip sharks, which are endemic to this site.
ISABELA ISLAND – TINTORERAS TOUR / OPTIONAL: Floreana Island
In the morning, we are heading towards Isabela, in a navigation of approximately 2 hours.
Later on, we will start our aquatic navigation towards the Tintoreras Islet, which is located 10 minutes in front of the Island Isabela. During this navigation, we will find the Penguins (which are the main attraction of the place) together with the Blue-footed Boobies and Pelicans.
When we arrive at Tintoreras, we will do a hike within its natural paths. On the way, you can find several volcanic crevices in which the Tintorera Sharks enter and become part of the reef’s natural environment. For this reason, the islet has the same name like the species “Tintorera”.
Finally, in the snorkeling activity, we will be able to see Marine Iguanas, sea lions, sea turtles, fish and with good luck, we might swim with the Penguins.
We are also going to visit a Flamingo Lagoon, where we will be able to observe this peculiar pinkish bird along with the Herons in natural areas.
Later we will have a transportation to the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center. Here we are going to see this species of Land Tortoises in captivity under the care and protection of the Galapagos National Park.
FERRY + TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
We start this day by taking a ferry from Santa Cruz Island (07:00 am) to San Cristobal Island with approximately 2 hours of navigation.
Upon arrival, we will have breakfast and then the transfer to the airport to take the respective flight back to continental Ecuador.
