ARRIVAL + HIGHLAND TOUR
Upon arrival in the Galapagos Islands, one of our representatives will cordially receive you. From there we will go to the Itabaca channel to take our private transport and arrive at our destination called “El Chato”, located in the highland part of Santa Cruz Island. Once at the site we will have the opportunity to observe the emblematic species of the Galapagos Islands, the Giant Land Tortoises. These are found in free areas, such as lagoons and trails.
We will also visit the lava tunnels. These are hollow rocks type caverns or caves, which allow us to take a walk inside them and take pictures of this beautiful and unique volcanic formation. In addition, we will learn a little more about the geological and natural formation of the Galapagos Islands.
After this spectacular excursion at the highlands, we will go to our hotel located in the city of Puerto Ayora.
TOUR ISLA SANTA FE (Snorkeling)
We will begin our adventure to Santa Fe Island with a navigation of approximately 45 minutes.
Santa Fe is very special and recognized because it has the clearest water in Galapagos (turquoise waters) and preserves within its bay the best marine life of the islands. Here we will enjoy two beautiful times of snorkeling or swimming with baby manta rays, baby sea lions, sea turtles and a reef full of colourful fish endemic to the area.
In our next activity, we will carry out an experiential (interactive) fishing between 20 to 45 minutes. Depending on the catch, we could prepare a Sashimi or Ceviche as an appetizer for the group.
Then we go to a landing at Hidden Beach, with free time to do any of the following activities: photography, swimming, snorkeling or just resting on the sand. We will also be able to observe the bay shark and the nesting time of marine iguanas (special activity in Galapagos).
Start: 08:00 am Return: 16:00 pm
BARTOLOME ISLAND TOUR
We will start our journey towards one of the most volcanic areas in Galapagos (2 hours of navigation), where we are going to do a special hike around the hill with 350 stairs. Here we will be able to visualize different types of craters and formations of natural volcanic lava, which offers us a breath-taking view for pictures. We will continue our hike until we arrive the top of the hill, which is the most important point of the island. Here we are going to observe the attractiveness of the site, the spectacular pinnacle rock (a unique rocky formation of natural volcanic lava in form of a triangle).
After the hike, we will have a short boat ride, which allows us to take photos of the Galapagos Penguins, which live along the coastline.
We’re also going to visit Sullivan Bay, where we’ll be able to see a surface of a very young volcanic lava, which gives us an idea of the natural formation of the Galapagos Islands and the appearance they had, when they were part of the oceanic surface. After a short walk there, we’ll have some free time on the beach, where you can realize the activity you prefer the most in that moment, such as taking pictures, swimming, snorkeling and observing marine Iguanas, sea Turtles and the Galapagos Penguins.
Start: 07:00 am Return: 17:00 pm
AIRPLANE FLIGHT + ISABELA ISLAND: TINTORERAS TOUR
In the morning, we leave to Baltra airport to take the respective plane flight of approximately 30 minutes to Isabela Island. Upon arrival in Puerto Villamil we will have the transfer to the hotel and the check-in respectively.
Then we will start a water navigation to Tintoreras Islet, which is 10 minutes away from Isabela Island. During this navigation, we will find the Galapagos Penguins (which are the main attraction of the place) along with the Blue Footed Boobies.
When we arrive at Tintoreras, we will do a hike within its natural paths. On the way, you can find several volcanic crevices in which the Tintorera Sharks enter and become part of the reef’s natural environment. For this reason, the islet has the same name like the species “Tintorera”.
Finally, in the snorkeling activity, we can see Marine Iguanas, Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, Fish and on a good day we could swim with Penguins.
We will also visit the Flamingos lagoon to observe these peculiar pink birds along with herons in natural areas.
To finish the day, we will have free time in the city.
ISABELA ISLAND: TUNNELS TRIP
The Tunnels are one of the best places on Isabela to do snorkeling / swimming, thanks to its transparent waters and its great variety of marine live. This place was named “The Tunnels” due to the volcanic lava formations in forms of arches or bridges above the water, forming tunnels underneath it. That makes its landscape unique in Galapagos.
In our navigation form Isabela towards The Tunnels, we are going to visit Union Rock, where we will be able to observe different species of birds, such as Blue-footed Boobies, Nazca Boobies, Seagulls and Pelicans. Continuing with our navigation, we will arrive at The Tunnels, where we are going to do a walk on the volcanic lava formations. Here you will be able to enjoy and take some photos of this breath-taking and spectacular landscape full with cacti, which complement the stunning scenery.
We’re also going to have 2 marvelous times of snorkeling within the lagoons to live one of most impressive sensations and experiences due to the fact that you’ll going to share this natural aquarium with Giant Sea Turtles, White-tip Sharks, Eagle Rays, Seahorses and Galapagos Penguins.
We will end our tour by returning to Puerto Villamil.
Start: 07:30 am Return: 12:30 pm
SAN CRISTOBAL: KICKER ROCK TOUR
Kicker Rock (Leon Dormido in Spanish) is an islet, located in the middle of the ocean, formed by two giant rocks divided by a water cannel. From the south, it looks like a sleeping lion, hence the Spanish name, and from the other side the shape resembles a boot, hence the name “Kicker Rock”.
These rocks are divided by a very special water canal, which serves as a place of retreat and cleaning area for ocean / giant animals. Amongst them, you will find the Hammerhead Shark, a well-known species and icon of the islet.
When we arrive at this place, we’ll get ready to live one of the most incredible experiences during our 2 times of snorkeling side by side with the Hammerhead Sharks, Black-tipped Sharks, Galapagos Sharks, Eagle Rays, Golden Rays, Sea Turtles, Sea Lions and colorful Fishes, which complement this breath-taking underwater landscape.
Around this paradise-like site, we will also be able to see and take photos of various types of shorebirds, like the Tropical Bird, Blue-footed Boobies and Pelicans, which stay close to that area.
Finally, we will have a wet landing on a marvelous beach, where we will be able to enjoy a beautiful coastal landscape and some free time. You can realize the activity you prefer most in that moment, such as taking pictures, swimming, snorkeling, walking or just relaxing on the beach.
Start: 08:00 am Return: 15:00 pm
ESPAÑOLA ISLAND TOUR
We start our adventure from San Cristobal Island taking a yacht to Española Island with approximately 2 hours of navigation.
Española Island is one of the oldest in the Archipelago with more than 3 million years of existence. It is part of the emblematic Galapagos Islands and is well known worldwide. Since Punta Suarez (location we can visit at the island) is characterized by being one of the most special bird nesting areas, among which we can find: the blue footed boobies, the Nazca booby, bifurcated seagulls and the icon of the Island, the Albatross (giant bird with a yellow beak). These birds spend most of the year in the Islands due to their mating and reproduction stages (observation from May to December).
On our tour within the Island, we will also be able to observe many other species that inhabit the area such as the multi-coloured iguana (a type of Hybrid Iguana typical of the Española Island) and families of sea lions that have made this place their natural habitat.
Then we will sail to Gardner Bay. This is a wonderful open bay where colonies of sea lions live. Its silky white coral sand and turquoise waters characterizes this bay. The place invites us to enjoy an incredible experience during our snorkeling time, along with green sea turtles, sea lions, golden mantas and colourful fish.
Start: 07:30 am Return: 17:00 pm
TRANSFER HACIA EL AEROPUERTO (San Cristóbal)
After breakfast, we will have the transfer to the San Cristobal airport to take our return flight to continental Ecuador and thus we will say goodbye to this beautiful experience we lived in the enchanted Islands, Galapagos.
